January’s fiction is wide-ranging in both genres and styles: award-winning translated works from Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Bangla; debut novels; contemporary crime thrillers; historical fiction; coming-of-age stories. January’s notable fiction.
This month’s nonfiction spans continents, countries, and even metaphysical realms with memoirs, history, anthologies, conversations, and meditative travel.
And, in poetry and drama, we have two classics illustrating our long, varied literary traditions: ancient love poetry translated from the Tamil and a historical play translated from the Hindi.
